Time to say Goodbye…

Everything that has a beginning also has an end … so or similar I remember a line from a famous movie. And as it started almost eight months ago for me, it sadly has to end now – I´m gonna close my fashion blog because of personal reasons. My life is changing again, and therefore I won´t have enough time to run around the Grid searching the shops for news and discovering the beautiful work of talented designers.

I feel it wouldn´t be fair for you – and also doesn´t meet my own requirements to myself – to let things slide and only blog on a “part time base”. So I decided a clean cut is the best, though it hurts to bury my baby in a way. I always dreamed a bit of being a little Cosmopolitan journalist writing about the latest fashion … even if it´s just pixel fashion. But well, that´s how life goes.

Perhaps my life will change again anytime in the future, and I´ll have the opportunity to write about SL fashion again – I´m curious how SL will develop during the next months and years. I just want to say Thank You to all my fellow readers who encouraged me during the last eight months to go on shopping and blogging about it ;) THANK YOU all, it was so much fun for me to see that my clumsy steps in SL fashion seemed to entertain you a bit ;)

And of course my thanks go to all gifted and talented designers who made my little girly dreams come true. I wish you all the best and great success for your brands and work – you enriched my Second Life.

*Edit: Though I´m not able to blog at the moment I decided to reopen my old posts and make them readable for you again. In fact a wonderful friend, Sasy Scarborough, convinced me to do that. To use her words: I was “reopening it for those that love to read archives and find something that is new to them, and get to experience what was your joy for a while”. The Platinum Hunt

Beginning tomorrow on August 8th another grid wide hunt is taking place, the Platinum Hunt. It is again arranged and organized by CHIC Management and will last until August 31st. About 100 designers are participating in this hunt, each of them created a special item.

Together with other bloggers I had the chance to throw a glance at these items before the hunt starts. I’m showing below just a few of them as examples of what you can find at this hunt.

Generally searching for some small hidden stuff on the grid is fun, running around and exploring the sims. And when there are some decent items to get, it is even more fun, so this event certainly is a great opportunity.

The Weekly Truth

As we already noticed last week, TruthHairThursday has morphed into a TruthHairWednesday. Truth who is still releasing on a weekly base is now updating his products a day earlier then he used to before.

Today we have three new hair styles for girls: Frankie, Penny and Tatiana. All styles this week come in a regular and a streaked version. I’m concentrating this time on the streaked ones for the pictures below.

Truth Frankie

Frankie comes as single streaked style offering 26 different streak shades plus a standard option, and includedes a retexturable hair band with 18 colors to choose from.

Truth Penny

Penny comes with dual streak options, each offering 26 different streak colors plus standard version.

Truth Tatiana

Lat but not least there is Tatiana, an asymmetric parted long curly stlye with single streaks in again 26 different shades.

If I had to name a favorite for this week I’d vote for Frankie I think. I love the head band option and I’m generally into cheeky shorter styles. But as always – have a look and choose for yourself. All three ladies are beautiful as usual.

DCNY Summer Mash-Up Freebie

DCNY is currently moving and updating its store. Therefore a new temporary location has been set up on the new home sim, ‘The City” Sim. So you can still shop and explore all items while the building work is going on below that location.

As a special customer service for the time the store is rebuilt DCNY has placed the a very cute freebie at the transitional store, the DCNY Summer Mash-Up #3. It consists of the Dora Top in Brown and the Raine Plaid Shorts.

Both items feature a wonderful detailed texture and include shirt and undershirt layer for the top plus pants layer for the shorts. The top has a cute white laced border at the bottom which is formed by a sculpted prim. The checkered shorts come also with two prims for the legs which are slightly flared. The belt with its baroque closure is part of the texture.

This is a cute little summer outfit and a nice customer service to offer such a freebie during the period DCNY is rebuilding the store. So check out the temporary location – and I’m already curious about the final store ;)

WoE for Project Themeory – Pink Pajamas

For Project Themeory WoE has a sweet pink version of its Pajamas on sale. According to this week’s theme “What I Love” the top features a cute flying heart print at the front. The textures look totally amazing, I love the pink checkered pattern of the pants.

The package contains all system layers for both items including a version 2.0 compliant tattoo layer, as Dick Wiesel, owner and designer of WoE, does for all clothes already for quite a while. Rolled up legs and string for pants are formed by sculpted prims.

There is still some time to get this Project Themeory item this week. In addition to that WoE and Exodi have announced their consolidation on one sim. Therefore both brands were celebrating this merge in a huge event party yesterday on August 3rd starting at 5.00pm SLT with hunt prizes, freebies and lots more. Unfortunately I missed this great event, but it is a good reason to check the stores and stuff out this week ;)
